Tucked away in Smiths Falls, Lombardy is a kart track that doubles as an absolute crucible for minimoto and supermoto racers. It’s tight. It’s twisty. And it offers zero time to rest.
For kids running the 160cc and 190cc Ohvales in MiniSBK, Lombardy is a wake-up call. You can't rely on horsepower to save your lap time here. It’s all about corner speed, precise transitions, and carrying momentum through the chicanes. The track separates the smooth riders from the aggressive ones, rewarding finesse over brute force.
Wrestling a bike through Lombardy for a 15-lap main event in the July heat requires massive core strength and cardio. It’s a workout that leaves the kids exhausted when they finally pull back into the pits.
As a spectator, though, Lombardy is a dream. Because of the compact layout, you can stand at the paddock fence and see almost the entire track. You can watch a pass set up three corners in advance.
For the dads in the paddock, the setup is much tighter than the sprawling concrete of Shannonville. You’re pitted close to your neighbors, which means tools are shared, advice is yelled over the sound of two-strokes, and the sense of community is incredibly strong.
Lombardy isn't the fastest track on the calendar, but a win here proves you have the absolute best bike control in the paddock.
